I’ve been very ill and I went a clinic yesterday. Through the x-rays I was told that I had 2-3 staples left from a previous operation which was done 17 years ago. All these years I have suffered from stomach viruses and bacterial infections.

A man was working in construction and was moving sheet rock. He suddenly felt excruciating pain in his lower back. X-rays revealed a ruptured annulus fibrosis. What has occurred? What is creating the pain?

I was in a car accident 10 months ago and after two days of talking to his insurance company I immediately called a lawyer. My car was totalled, it was 100% his fault (I have police reports to prove) and I have missed countless days of work and am still in pain. I went to three different types of doctors, had x-rays, mri’s and all sorts of tests done but i still have no use in two of my fingers, numbness and shooting pains. My last chiropractor released me basically saying there was not much more I could do and had to live with it. I have been told to see a neurologist but none will take me without insurance, or just based on my lawyer information.

I told the lawyer to just go ahead and start proceedings. She said they will come up with a demand. I dont know how this is all supposed to work but I want to make sure they are doing things RIGHT. I don’t want to get screwed just because I dont speak the legal jargon. If anyone can to tell me what to expect at this point, or what I can be doing or the lawyer should be doing that would be very helpful.

Car accident, should we consult a lawyer?

Should we consult an attorney about a car accident my husband was recently involved in to make sure we get the max amount we deserve? I’ll try and give you as much details about the accident as possible.

What happened: My husband was driving home from work when 2 cars came to a stop in front of him, he stopped about 1 1/2 car lengths behind them as they were waiting to turn left, about 3 seconds later a large SUV rear-ended him dead on pushing him into the van in front of him and totaling our car. He went to the ER right away but haven’t gotten the x-rays back yet. We won’t get the police report for a few more days still but it was DEFINITELY the woman’s fault. My husband is under DR’s orders to take off 1 week, and then light duty for 1 week (possibly longer after we find out the results of the x-rays), he is feeling anxious because of missing work and we have no savings so we’re stressed about bills, we have a 5 month old and he cannot help me at home, and is afraid to drive now.
Oh yes and my husband drives for a living so him being afraid of getting into another accident is taking a toll on his work performance capacity.

Mainly we want the woman (or her insurance company) to pay: the remainder of our loan, my husband’s present and future medical bills regarding these injuries, lost wages, loss of ability to provide household serivces, loss of use of property (ie the car), pain and suffering (for his physical pain, mental suffering, and emotional distress), a rental car that is comparable to our totaled car until this is settled.

Also we know that the woman has insurance and it is up to date as we have already contacted her insurance as well as ours about this accident.

So do I have a case, should we get a lawyer?
our insurance co offered us about 14k for the car, but we owe about 16k on our loan as we’ve not had this car not even 2 months. When we purchased the car we didn’t get GAP so there is around 2k that will be left on the loan if we accept this.
he was at a dead stop and the woman was going 55mph when she hit him, that is why he was pushed so far. The police officer walked the skid marks from our car and he was pushed 10 feet (I guess that’s about 1 1/2 cars length right?)
this is what the car looks like now,

and yes I am telling 100% of the truth, I feel bad for the women who hit him as she seemed very upset but we are newly married with a young baby and had worked hard for our car and life only to have it jeopardized by this womans negligence!

How to find a spinal injury?

So last night my cousins dog got hurt playing outside and couldn’t move his back legs at all. They took him to an emergency animal hospital and they took x-rays (they thought that he popped his joint out, or broke his leg) and found nothing. They sent him home with some drugs and said that it was probably a torn ligament. Well today my cousin took him back there because he wasn’t doing any better and the found a spinal injury and had to put him down. How did they miss that the first time around? Shouldn’t they have been able to see it in the x-ray?

Back pain?

I’m 24 years old and I was having some minor back pain off and on for the past few years, mostly mid back, sometimes lower back, depending on whatever activity it was that I was doing. I saw a chiropractor for an adjustment. She took x-rays and found that my hips and tailbone were slightly rotated outward, probably caused by a past injury and a lifetime of poor posture. She thinks this and a weak muscle balance in my back were the root of the back pain.

I’ve seen her twice a week for a couple of months now, where she uses a "micro adjuster" to push my tailbone back into place. I’ve also done daily exercises, stretching and used back support for driving. But my back is actually beginning to hurt worse now! The pain is almost daily. She thinks that since the lower back is straightening out to where it should be, its pulling the rest of the back back in line, something like that. And that the pain is normal and should recede as everything lines up and I get used to it. Sound right?
The pain usually starts the exact second I start to slouch forward while sitting. I try to sit upright, but its hard to being in front of a desk for a good portion of the day.

My daughter fell in gymnastics and couldn’t move when the ambulance came. Once she got to the hospital she began to move her legs just fine but had limited mobility in her arms and hands. She had a swollen, bruised and scraped up neck. Her MRI, x-rays,and CT scans all showed nothing. She was discharged after 4 days but she cannot move her fingers at all. This took place a month ago now. The physician mentioned Central Cord Syndrome. Can she still have this even though her tests were clean? Her neck was swollen for a few weeks; this cannot be nothing.

I’m an active, young, former collegiate athlete that was rear-ended four months ago. I didn’t have any problems until roughly 3 hours after the accident. The driver of the other vehicle was cited for not providing proper distance. Since the accident, I’ve been in and out of visits with my primary care physician, Physical Therapy and Orho Neuro Specialist. The specialist said that my x-rays indicate previous early arthritis. He also pointed out a bulging disc. I’ve been told that both are considered preexisting and cannot be taken into consideration if I were to proceed legally. Meanwhile, I have never had any need for any type of pain treatment for either of these "preexisting" problems. I’ve been in and out of PT and had several shots to re leave the pain and I’m still dealing with it. Can I pursue this legally? Does it make sense?

Just got into a car accident, I’m completely fine except for a few scratches and bruises, but my car is totaled (go seat belts!). I have another car I can use so I won’t be missing work or anything. After the accident, they took me to the hospital, they checked me up and gave me x-rays where it hurt but found nothing. The driver a fault was totally drunk, ran a red light and hit me. Everything is his fault. There was a witness that reported that to the police.

So given those circumstances, is it worth getting a lawyer?
Also, the driver at fault does have insurance.

How long does it take for a spinal fusion to fuse?

When should you start seeing bone growth in x-rays, and when should the two vertabrae appear as one?

I know you guys would its not wrong they made him go threw pain they made him get out of they bed and stand up meanwhile his ankles were broken him crying in pain . I don’t care if they lose their jobs because if they don’t do it right they shouldn’t do it at all. They should have taken x-rays and put something on his feet.

I thought I had a broken femur, although there was no trauma to any part of my body. I went to the hospital, they took x rays of all the bones, found no fractures, no dislocations. Pain continues to come and go, mostly come. I am immobilized. What’s wrong and what to do?
Its been 4 days already

It was a routing periodontal exam, no extraction involved. The assistant lost her voice, (which is usually a symptom of cold or flu,) but came into the office anyway. The dentist did the exam, the assistant took some x-rays. After a few days, the patient develops a swollen jaw due to viral infection.
Thanks everyone for the answers. Unfortunately the patient wasn’t aware that the assistant was sick until they were almost done with the procedures.

My horse had a bad spinal vertebrae injury and I got x-rays done and the vet said I can ride her again but I’m scared. I just got another saddle with more wither clearance than her old one. The only problem is that now, one side of her back sticks up more than the other (you can see in the pictures with her saddle on that there is a gap on the left side compared to the right. Should I use a gel half pad, or use my Bates saddle that has the air panels to equalize the pressure from the gap?

Also, does the saddle I recently got seem to fit perfect for her (minus the gap on the left)? Here are 11 pictures of her injury and wearing a saddle:
