I fell on my back numerous times as a child knocking the wind out of myself almost everytime, twice was on concrete and one of those times I knocked myself out cold hitting my head as well. Everytime I went to the doctor I was given xrays and CAT scans and was told I had no serious injuries just bruises. Recently I have had the worst pains in my back and neck. Could it be from falling as a kid even though I was told I had no injuries?

I went to drs. an he said I possibly have a pinched nerve in back of my neck.Sent me yesterday for xrays. If I do,what will they wanna do?

Personal injury lawyer to help. I'm clueless?

Negligence on establishments part. Many counts of it, now I have broken tailbone and widespread lower back pain..and back muscle recruitment. It keeps moving up on my left side My pcp won’t fit me in for a week from now.. I don’t know where to turn. I feel like a victim.. I’ve done everything right, seen the er xrays and filed a report, now I feel I’ve been treated badly on all ends
I guess I want a lawyer to take care of the medical portion asap. This is radiating up in my left back and down in my left leg… I don’t trust my pcp seeing that I had this trauma out of town and she can’t be bothered to follow up with me till 2 wks after the fact…and you get a bad name around here if you go to the er on non emergency basis

Back injury, please help me, i need advice! :*(?

so I’m young, and I’ve had a back injury for two years. I don’t know how i got it, but it just started to hurt, but in the last two months it has crashed. It is so bad. I’m in karate, and even if I train for an hour, it hurts within 5 minutes. Last night, i was crying sitting in the car on the way home because it hurt sooo badly. It is al the way from my neck down to my lower back. I can barely move when I get up in the morning, and it hurts all day. What can i do? I’ve had IMS, and gone to a sports doc, everythign just makes it worse. I’m only 14. I’ve had xrays, IMS, and chiro, nothing is helping. I just need it to stop. What can i do, has this happened to anyone before?

Auto Accident – Value of soft tissue injury?

My three teenage kids were rear-ended by a commercial truck. They were in a newer mini van, all in seat belts. The driver claims his brakes went out on him, and he was cited by the officer. On pushing the truck to the side of the road, the brakes were bad.

All went to the hospital for xrays, and were released with instructions to rest and take ibuprohen for pain.

Spoke with the claims adjuster was told to get an estmate which is in progress, and I am using my shop, which they approved. I do not anticipate any issues with getting the vehicle made whole.

Question revovles around the kids. They seems fine, and frankly I would be surprised if there was any long term issues. Sore neck, sore back, some soreness from the seat belt. On day two they are not complaining, and are doing normal things.

The clams person indicated that she would make an offer once all of the medical bills are submitted.

Answer I need is, what is a reasonable amount for the injuries

This all started about a month ago. I had a horrible pain in my thigh. It’s a throbbing pain that radiates from where my leg and butt meet and again about 5-6 inches above my thigh, on the backside. It is deep within the thigh, nearer to the bone. I wake up in the morning with it throbbing and sore and as the day progresses, it feels better and no pain at all unless I push on those spots. Motrin does nothing, tylenol and aspirin tend to help the best. About 2 weeks ago, I stated getting numbness and tingling all down the back of my leg from the bottom of my butt to my heel. I went in and saw one of the nurses under my doctor. She thought I had a strain in my lower back (which is not hurting at all) and it is putting pressure on my nerve (most likely the sciatic). They took a bunch of xrays on my lumbar region and they didn’t show anything abnormal. I was put on a 7 day steroid and muscle relaxers. On day 4 of my steroid pack, my heel went numb, not the skin, but the tissue underneath (it’s been numb ever since). The muscle relaxers did nothing for me, they barely even made me sleepy. Every time I stand up and even sometimes when laying down if I flex my leg, I get shooting tingling and numbness all the way down my leg from butt to heel. I called the nurse back, now she thinks I have a slipped disc and is ordering an MRI.

Now, my questions is, what is with this pain in my thigh? It’s not getting any better, it was my first symptom and this nurse doesn’t seem to think anything of it. By the time I saw her it was 3 pm and my thigh wasn’t hurting at all. However, every morning I wake up and it’s killing me. Some nights it wakes me up the pain is so bad. I am thinking the problem started with my thigh, so its more likely that this is the cause of my sciatic tingling. I plan on going back in, this time seeing my doctor and not the nurse for a second opinion. Not that I have anything against nursepractitionerss, infact, I prefer them to an OB. I just think there is something wrong with my thigh and want another opinion.

Can a slipped disc cause this much pain in your thigh? I have no back pain whatsoever, so I’m not sure I agree with her. I would compare the pain to a strained muscle, but it’s been over a month, I have been taking it easy (I’m a stay at home mom) and the pain is not getting any better, so I’m thinking its not a strained muscle. Feel free to ask anymore questions, I’ve tried to be as informative as I can. Thanks!

Allstate handling my auto injury claim in bad faith?

Ok, brief run down…This happened in NC, on 4-25-08. I was on the highway (65 mph) heading to work, traffic had come to a stop, next thing I know I get hit hard from the back! Someone not paying attention had rear ended the truck behind me which then plowed into me.

My car took 5K worth of damage and was total loss. I was taken to emergency room and had xrays which actually showed muscle spasms. I was given 3 different pain meds for whiplash. I immediatly felt numbing/tingly sensations along with the soreness after being hit.

I missed 4 days of work and an hour for each of the 25 chiropractor sessions I had over few months.

I had 7692 in med bills. 1140 in lost wages. So 8832 in special damages…the adjusters "final offer" was 8500, which obviously doesnt even cover my special damages!? She said the average med bills for such an injury are 6500, and lost wages arent paid on an hourly rate ~they are just figured into the inconvinence…

I called and complainned to the supervisor, saying I felt my claim was being handled in bad faith and was trying this step before retainning the attorney I have been speaking to. I want my special damages paid for as they have supplied no reason to deny them and something for pain suffering.

They call me back with a new "final offer" of 10,000. This leaves 1,200 for pain suffering…does this sound low to anyone else? Since they made point to say "final/top offer" guess Id have no other choice but to retain an attorney and go to court in couple years?
JLG:
You obviously have no grasp of the law in regards to auto injury claims…
I will clarify for you, I did not have sick or vacation time, I am on contract pay. BUT, even if I did, that too is considered lost earnings and is entitled to be reimbursed. Same goes for med bills. If health insurance paid for it, which I dont have, yes they would demand to be reimbursed from settlement. Medpay from my insurance does not have to be repayed, but is also not to be considered, in fact it is ILLEGAL for an adjuster to bring up such extra coverage benefits as you are mentionning, it is the law.

Guess you learned something new today.
JLG, you gave yourself a thumbs up lol? Figures.

vets say my dog has a slipped disc?

the vets say my dog (chihuahua boy) has a slipped disc and is semi paralysd.
he cannot walk on his right leg, but has got feeling in all his legs and can stand perfectly well on all 4 legs but he has problems walking.
i have got some anti inflamitry tablets off the vets.
what are the chances of them working for him and him walking again?
they have said that if they dont work he may have to have surgory and its looking into the thousands. they havnt done any xrays on his legs/hips/spine but they are determind that its his spine.
what are the chances of him recoverying without surgory?
the operation is pretty risky, i want him to recover without surgory and was also wondering how long it would take 4 him to recover without surgory, and what can i do to help him?
hes only 2years old and it happend on sunday and we got him to the vets on monday and then they asked us 2 come back on the tuesday and they said he had improved, he was there yesterday and they said he improved again.
Also when he went in the bath his right leg kinda flopped out to the side like there was nothing there, but he is standing and has feeling in his legs, he isnt crying to show hes in pain or anything, and on the back of his legs theres a tendan or bone, it joins from his thigh to his little part of his leg and his right one is really elasticy and the left one is really hard, and its his right leg he has problems with could this be part of the problem? im not back up to the vets till monday.

My son was sent to the hospital by ambulance, where they did a CAT scan, many xrays, and an EKG. He was sent home with perscriptions and told to see his doctor in 3 – 5 days. He went to his doc, and still has neck and back pain and fluid on his right knee….translation…more dr’s apts and more meds. My son is 22 years old, just out of the Marines with plans to go to college in the fall…he has a part time job that does not come with sick leave, so every day he misses is out of pocket.
A few facts: My son was not at fault (was not ticketed for any violation)
The other auto/driver thought it was a 4-way stop and pulled out in front of him. Also he was in a company pickup, so is a company insurance we are working with.

I guess my question is, will he recieve a settlement from the insurance company? Do we need to get a lawyer, or is it too soon to know? When should we get a lawyer if we need to?

Thanks for your help.

Is an lawyer necessary for this car accident case?

My girlfriend in California had a car accident coming home from work. She drove a 2000 Toyota Camry le. She was turning left on a green arrow when a car from the opposite end of the intersection ran the red light and hit her car on the passenger side at about 40 – 45 mph. She was taken to emergency on a backboard but did not sustain any serious injuries at the time and had no xrays done so was sent home with medications.

However a few days later she is experiencing upper back pain with right arm pain that was affecting her job performance, so she had to go to an urgent care clinic and after an examination the physician recommended that she takes 1 week off from her job and to go for physical therapy for about 3 weeks. The pain can become severe every now and then though.

In the meantime, the car looks totaled with the passenger side doors caved in, the windows completely broken, the dash glass cracked up, and the roof and base of the vehicle dented from the side. Also the car seats are shifted from the impact. She does not have collision coverage in her insurance

But the other guy that hit her was driving a company car and was honest, making the statement with his company insurance that he was at fault. The bottom line is that she keeps getting advice to get a lawyer on the case but I want to be sure if it’s a good idea for her. I heard about some nightmares in dealing with these insurance adjusters and I don’t know whether she should talk to the other party’s company insurance adjuster before getting a lawyer for the case. But considering her injuries are somewhat minor(might go for an M.R.I. though), would a lawyer be worth having for handling the claim? Thanks a lot

What else can I do to get rid of chronic back pain?

I’m more or less at my wits end. Every doctor I go to tells me that the xrays and MRI are showing nothing wrong with me and that I need to exercise.

I’m 22 years old, I shouldn’t be having chronic back pain that has no apparent cause. And at very least if it were a muscle strain I’d figure that 8 months would have been plenty of time for it to heal. I’m not in that bad of shape, I walk 2 or 3 miles a day.

I have more or less written off medication as a simple mask of the problem. The problem to me isn’t the pain, it’s whatever is causing the pain. In a way I’d rather deal with the pain until the real problem is identified and gotten rid of so it can serve as a reminder. I’m not sure my exercising is helping any and for some reason my doctors seem to think I’m making it up or they just want to perscribe me more pain killers.

Is there anything else I can do on my own to combat back pain?

Husband has a severe pinched nerve – can’t even move. Chiro says its the worst she’s seen in many years. He works at a place like UPS/Fedex and she says it was probably caused from repetitive movement and carrying and loading large boxes, etc to deliver. It’s costing us a fortune in xrays and chiro visits. Is it even worth the bother to try and get money from workmans comp?
ETA: if it isnt better within the week he will be going for an MRI – i’d rather fix the problem then go to a medical doctor and have them put him on vicadin and muscle relaxers to mask the problem and temporarily "fix" it – i believe both medical doctors and chiropractors can be quacks – you just have to do your research to find a good one of either. I also think there’s a time to see a chiropractor and a time to see an MD and other times both. The xrays that were taken clearly show his vertebrae together where it should have an opening for the nerve. An MD isnt going to fix this without surgery – a chiropractor will.
Should also add that I had chronic ear infections when I was little – dr repeatedly prescribed medications and nothing worked. My mom decided to try a chiropractor and I havent had an ear infection since. Same thing with a friend of the family with her little boy with his tonsils – constantly had strep throat and tonsilitis and was told he needed them out – went to our chiro and he’s fine – no meds needed – no streap or tonsilitis since. Trust me – we’ve done the research and seen it first hand.
This wasnt something that happened all the sudden – it just progressed over the weekend (when he wasnt at work) He was in so much pain Monday morning he couldnt get to work and went straight to the chiro – he called his work today to ask for a claim form, but it wasnt like it happened at work and he could ask that day.

I have been taking vicoden for 1 year now and I am getting so ammuned to it that it does not really even help I have asked my doctor to give me something stronger and he will not . My last x-rays showed another herniated disc as well as anterier arthrodesis and a nerve pushing on my spine. Since I have no health insurance its been very difficult to determine the amount of damage to my back only what the xrays have shown I am only 47 and I feel like I am pushing 80 because of the amount of pain I encounter every single day If the pain gets unbearable I am on the heating pad most of the day,This is no quality of life and I have tried to go to a pain management doctor but they pretty much told me if I did not have insurance that it would cost me thousnds of dollars and they never called me back after I said that I still wanted an appointment. Nice world we live in.If you don’t have health insureance doctors can just turn you away.
