what can you do to make your arm feel better when you pinched a nerve?

i think it’s a pinched nerve, that’s what my dad said and he was about 2 months away from getting a PhD in anatomy at Northwestern. it’s when you stretch your arm after it happened and it hurts.

Dad should have an answer for you then. Pain in the arm can be caused by a multitude of issues, beginning with neck deterioration, rotator cuff problems in the shoulder, tendinitis in the elbow, carpal tunnel in the wrist. What you are describing doesn’t sound like nerve pain to me, and I suffer from severe chronic nerve pain. If you can be more clear, possibly we can have an answer for you, but at this point, I see no nerve issue going on.
I would just rest it, put it in the position it hurts the least and slowly try to bend it the way it hurts. Do it gradually until the pain fades.
ice packs to avoid swelling and help with pain and rest it until the nerve starts to relax.
Go to a muscle man and he can put it right for you, no point in suffering when you don’t have to. They have helped me a lot after a bad car accident.
I would also recommend talking to your dr (and you can find this out over the phone too) to ask them as well what they suggest for dealing with this pain.
Oh man……I really feel for you. A pinched nerve hurts sooo bad that there is hardly any position that you can put your arm in that it won’t hurt after a short while.
I’ve tried putting direct pressure on the nerve and held it there for awhile and then let go for brief periods of relief.
I take alot of pain pills anyway but when I get a pinched nerve I put some ice right on it and take more pain pills.
If it is so bad that you are needing to go into the emergency room or urgent care then you really need to see a Dr. that is able to deal with your particular problem and diagnose what has to be done.
You really need to go to a specialized Dr. and find out why it is pinched in the first place and have it taken care of.
It could be a slipped disc or a misalignment in your spine of some sort………whatever it is.! You really need to go to a Dr. that you trust and have it looked at ….ASAP!
